How do you know Rubik? I was about 12 years old when my auntie brought Rubik as gift for us, me and my cousin, one for each. I remembered we tried it so hard just to finish a single side. It felt like winning a lottery when could finish 2 sides. No internet at that time, so you could not surf to find out how to solve for all 6 sides. And, no one played it in my home town. It was not popular.
I am very surprise when i knew my brother started playing Rubik recently. He said it is quite popular for people playing it now, even there is a community for it.
What do you know about Rubik?
The Rubik’s Cube is a 3-D mechanical puzzle invented in 1974 by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Ernö Rubik. It is widely considered to be the world’s best-selling toy. In a classic Rubik’s Cube, each of the six faces is covered by 9 stickers, among six solid colors (traditionally white, red, blue, orange, green, and yellow). A pivot mechanism enables each face to turn independently, thus mixing up the colors. For the puzzle to be solved, each face must be a solid color. The current world record for single time on a 3×3×3 Rubik’s Cube was set by Erik Akkersdijk in 2008, who had a best time of 7.08 seconds at the Czech Open 2008. The world record average solve is currently held by Tomasz Zolnowski; which is 10.63 seconds at the Warsaw Open 2009.
Abel Brata Susilo is the fastest man in Indonesia who hold this title on January 31st, 2007 as recorded on MURI (Indonesia World Record Museum). His best time is 19.33 seconds. But, it’s been re-new down to 14.44 second on last August 30th, 2009 at Indonesia Open 2009 by Abel Brata Susilo, himself.
And, another interesting news, a robot could solve it in 47 seconds during Indonesia Robotic Olympiade event (IRO 2009) on last August 9th, 2009 at Jakarta. The Lego robot – robot’s name, has a specialized skill to solve Rubik cube.
How about my brother? Well, he could manage it around 38 seconds, not bad, right? Faster than robot !
How to learn and solve it?
Here is a good one for learning. I found in English and Indonesia language. And if you are in Indonesia, you could join to Indonesia Speedsolvers Community (ISC), where you could interact, learn, share anything about Rubik.
If you realize i mentioned Becky’s name many times, and even there is a category called Becky. But you never meet her yet. Now, i have a chance to introduce her. The little girl on the photo is her – Becky. She is 5 (five) years old, study on B grade kinder garden.
As most kids at her age, she plays many things. And one of her favorite is bricks (blocks). With these bricks, she could develop her motorist movement, concentration, skill, and creativity. I understand and find out about it recently, when she tried to combine 2 (two) difference brands, Lego and Mega Bloks. And you might guess it was successful.
She knows Lego recently, when her closed friend showed and asked her playing together. Before that, she only had Mega Bloks, which is not challenging for her anymore. I gave her when she was 3 (three) years old, which suitable for her at that time. I selected for children at age 3 (three) years old and above.
And with her new Lego, she is free to build anything since not too many fix shape available.
“Lego“, consists of colorful interlocking plastic bricks and an accompanying array of gears, mini figures and various other parts. Lego bricks can be assembled and connected in many ways, to construct such objects as vehicles, buildings and even working robots. Anything constructed can then be taken apart again, and the pieces used to make other objects.
So, that is a short story about Becky.
Winnie the Pooh & friends are also one of a successful cartoon character ever. Introduced by Disney, and since that become an icon for them beside Mickey, Donald, and Princess.
Winnie the Pooh is a honey bear which lives in ‘Hundred Acre Wood’, with Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, Rabbit, Kanga & Roo, and Christopher Robin.
Every kids love these characters a lot, and pretends to be their friends. They like the toys, dolls, books, movies, etc. It would be a surprise if you gave these coloring pages to them and spent you time to color them together. What a great moment and time that you would have, and could not be rewind again, never !

Becky’s Club is a zone for kids, contain with all relevant kid stuffs. It’s my daughter, Becky’s favorite stuffs. I took them from her collections.
And it is a part of my hobby to get and collect them since my daughter love it so much and become as a surprise gift for her.

As an introduction, there would be several nice coloring pages available.
One of the most little girls favorite things are Disney Princess characters, such as Cinderella, Snow White, etc.
Starting with Ariel – Little Mermaid, there are 3 (three) wonderful coloring pages in a good quality.
I got them from Disney and save as PDF files, It is a good quality one, especially if printed on a laser printer, then your kids could use a watercolor for coloring it.
We share it to you since we realized it is not easy to find a good stuff for free and suitable for our children. Hopefully your daughters love and have fun with it. Happy holidays !!!
